Description

This milestone, located on the north side of the road near the eastern end of Stockbridge Common, dates from the early 19th century. It is made of painted stone and features a cast iron inscription plate. The stone has a square section with a rounded top, and the front plate is inscribed with "7 miles from WINTON, 1½ to STOCKBge."
