Description
Little Somborne Farmhouse is a C17 farmhouse that was encased and extended in the C18, with alterations made in the C20. It is constructed of timber-frame with brick infill on one end, encased in bands of flint and brick, and has brick dressings and an old plain tile roof. The original C17 section is a 3-bay building, with a further bay added during the C18 extension, which protrudes beyond it. The front of the house is 1 1/2 storeys high and has 4 bays. A C20 gabled brick porch with a doorway sits in the second bay from the road end, and C20 rectangular hip-roofed bay windows are in the bays on either side. A C20 door and a 2-light casement window occupy the far bay, which has a segmental-headed opening. Four 2-light gabled dormers are positioned above the front. The roof is half-hipped at the road end, featuring a ridge stack to the far side of the porch and stacks at each end.
