Description
Garlogs is a small country house built in 1846, which incorporates an older building that was destroyed in a fire. The house is constructed of stuccoed brick and has a slate roof. It is three stories tall and features a three-by-three bay layout, with a wing extending to the rear on the left side. The building has a plinth and central double doors with panels on either side, all of which are half-glazed and topped with fanlights. These doors are set under a stuccoed Doric porch that has a heavy entablature and is surmounted by an urn on a plinth.
On either side of the central entrance, there are 16-pane sash windows with blind boxes, framed in architraves with cornices supported by console brackets. The first floor has three similar sash windows, while the second floor features wide 12-pane sashes with blind boxes, also in architraves. The house has wide flat eaves that complement its low-pitched roof, and there are symmetrical stacks located behind the ridge.
