Description
Berry Court Farmhouse is a 16th-century timber-frame farmhouse that was encased in the 18th century and extended in the early 19th century. It is constructed of timber with brick infill, with old plain tile roofing and slated additions. The house is two storeys and an attic, comprising three bays and a smoke bay, with an exposed timber gable and, to the rear at that end, a two-storey, three-bay 19th-century addition. The front is rendered with a 20th-century glazed outshot to the centre, smoke bay, and right bay. A top-lit 19th-century door is located to the right of the smoke bay, and French windows to the left. The right bay contains a three-light casement window, and the left bay a 12-pane sash window. On the first floor, there are four 9-pane sash windows, two to the centre bay. The roof is half-hipped to the left, with two 2-light hipped dormers on the left side. A large ridge stack with an offset head sits over the smoke bay.
