Description
Oriel College Farmhouse is a house built in the late 18th century. It features flint walls and a slate roof. The front elevation faces east and is symmetrical, consisting of two storeys with four windows, some of which are blocked. There is a slightly lower extension on the south side. The building has red brick quoins, slightly cambered arches over the openings, and a cement plinth. The windows are sash style. The doorcase includes a cornice, carved brackets, Doric fluted pilasters, an architrave with a key, a fanlight with diagonal bars, and a six-panelled door. The west elevation, which faces the garden, is similar but has casement windows and a French door set in a plain architrave. This door is sheltered by an open Doric porch that features a cornice with a half-elliptical shape, two fluted pilasters, and columns with dentilled capitals. Inside, the farmhouse retains an original staircase and several fireplaces.
