Description
Lancaster Park is a late 18th-century farmhouse located at 33 Stoke Road in Methwold. The building features a facade and returns made of gault brick, with the remainder constructed from flint and clunch. It has a slate roof and stands two storeys tall with three bays. The central entrance consists of a panelled door set within panelled reveals, flanked by timber columns beneath block architraves and an open segmental pediment. The sash windows, which have glazing bars, are positioned under gauged skewback arches. A projecting eaves cornice adds to the architectural detail, and the hipped roof is equipped with two stacks on the rear slope. The rear of the house is finished in flint, and there is a 20th-century gabled porch to the right of the central door. The window openings feature segmental-headed early 19th-century casements. Inside, the farmhouse boasts an open string staircase with scrolled tread ends and a wreathed handrail.
