Description
Walnut Cottage is a house dating from the late 18th century, with a 20th-century extension. It is constructed of flint and brick, topped with a thatched roof. The building has one storey and an attic, featuring three windows above four. The roof is hipped at the west end, which is the 20th-century part, and gabled at the east end, showcasing an exposed timber frame. The eaves are raised above the upper windows, and there is a tiled outshot along the rear. The exterior includes flint panels with brick quotas and cambered arches, indicating some additions to an original central section, which has a former doorway that is partly blocked. There is also an entrance on the slightly later east side. Above the eaves level, the space between the windows reveals exposed framing with plaster infill. The windows are casements, and there is a boarded door located beneath a thatched canopy.
