Description
Elmtree Cottage and Hedgerows is a former terrace of six cottages, now comprising two cottages, located in Tangley. The building dates back to the 17th century and features late 18th-century cladding. It is constructed with a combination of render and flint, topped with a thatched roof. The structure has two storeys, with one storey and an attic, and displays a window arrangement of two above four.
On the west side, known as Elmtree, the eaves are slightly raised above the upper windows, and there are three eyebrow dormers. On the east side, the eaves are raised above a half dormer, and the roof is hipped and lowered above an outshot at the east end. Elmtree has rendered walls, while the longer section, Hedgerows, features flint with brick dressings. The windows are casements, and there are plain doorways, one of which is blocked.
