Description
Elm Cottage and Manor Cottage are two cottages located on Colchester Road in St. Osyth. They date from the 17th or 18th century and may have origins that are even earlier. The cottages are primarily timber framed and weatherboarded, with Elm Cottage featuring some plaster. They have red plain tiled roofs that include three catslide dormers and red brick chimney stacks at both ends. The cottages are one storey high with attics and have a variety of window styles, including a 3:2 arrangement of casements. The left side has a moulded surround, frieze, and flat canopy above the window, while there is a 20th-century boarded door and another door on the right return. Inside No. 34, there are chamfered bridging joists and exposed ceiling beams.
