Description
The St. Osyth D.I.Y. Centre and B.G. Stores, located at the corner of Colchester Road, are two shops with accommodation above, dating from the 18th century. The building features a mix of construction materials, including part timber framing and plaster, with the shop return made of painted brick. It has a red plain tiled roof and red brick chimney stacks on both the right and left sides, along with a parapet.
On the first floor, there are three small paned vertically sliding sash windows. The symmetrical 19th-century shop front includes pilasters on either side of the four light windows, each light topped with a moulded segmental head. The central entrance consists of recessed part glazed double doors with a round head light above.
