Description
Hendleys Cottage is a small house that dates back to the 17th century, with extensions from the 18th century and alterations made in the 20th century. The building features a mix of brick, weatherboarding, and tile hanging, topped with a plain tile roof. It has three bays facing the road, with a stack bay positioned as the second bay from the road. The house is 2 and a half stories high, with a rear wing attached to the stack bay and a low link connecting to a 20th-century range at right angles.
The front of the cottage has two or four-light casement windows in the outer bays, while a raised brick band runs above the heads of these windows. The first floor displays painted weatherboarding and features two or three-light casement windows across three bays. The roof is half-hipped and includes a ridge stack over the stack bay, as well as three 20th-century two-light eyebrow dormers. The road-facing end of the house has a four-light casement window above older two-light casements, and it displays two date stones marked 1626 and 1726.
