Description
Pightle Cottage is a small house dating from the 17th century. It has a timber frame with whitewashed brick infill and features a half-hipped thatch roof, along with an off-centre brick stack with thin bricks at the base. The cottage is one storey with an attic and has a southeast front that consists of three bays oriented at right angles to the road. The windows are leaded casements, with the outer bays featuring cross windows. There is an off-centre modern board door that is sheltered by a timber gabled and tiled hood supported on brackets, with a small single casement window to the right. The right-hand bay is partly obscured by a modern extension that is at right angles; this extension is made of whitewashed brick and has a thatched roof with a garage entry. Additionally, there is an outshot on the northwest side. The gable facing the street includes a square bay window on the ground floor and a cross window above.
