Description

The Cottage is a house dating from the early and mid-19th century. Constructed primarily of brick with a slate roof and sections of plain tile, it comprises a three-by-two bay early 19th-century house, a taller, old-style one-bay block at the road’s end, and a mid-19th century range at the far end. The garden front features the older three-bay section, with a central half-glazed door sheltered by a flat-roofed porch supported by stone Doric posts. Flanking the door are two 20-pane sash windows, and on the first floor are 16-pane sash windows. All windows have rendered arches. The mid-19th century range extending across the far end is characterised by French windows above which are sash windows.
