Description
The Homestead is a cottage dating from the early 18th century, with alterations made in the early 20th century. It is constructed of brick with a thatched roof, and features a brick and pantile outshot and addition. The building is 1½ storeys high, with two bays and an added single-storey, two-bay extension. The front of the cottage has an addition on the right-hand side and a door near the right end, which is sheltered by a thatched hood. There is a two-light metal casement window under a rendered arch and a similar single casement window on the left-hand side. Above the right side, there is an eyebrow dormer. The roof is half-hipped on the left side, and there is a stack at the right end. The addition also features two-light metal casement windows. The Homestead is included for its group value and occupies an important position at the junction.
