Description

Gingerbread Cottage is a 17th-century cottage that has been altered in the 18th and 20th centuries. It is timber-framed with painted brick infill and a thatched roof. The cottage is one-and-a-half storeys and originally two bays, with a 18th-century stack bay added to one end and an outshot bay added to the other. The front has a central 20th-century hipped porch. Each side has a 20th-century two-light casement window, and above are 18th-century two-light casements under raised eaves to both bays. The stack bay on the right-hand side and the outshot bay on the left-hand side have 20th-century three-light casement windows with shutters. The roof is hipped and swept down to the left-hand side, with a stack at the right-hand end.
