Description

Poplar Farmhouse, now a private house, appears to date from the 18th century or earlier, though it was refaced in the early 19th century. The house is constructed of brick, with some decorative blue brick, and has a rear elevation finished with tile hanging. The roof is slate-covered and hipped, with a brick ridge stack situated above the front door. The house has two storeys and originally consisted of a three-bay section with a narrower wing attached. The central bay features a two-light cast iron casement window beneath a segmental head. The other bays contain three-light casement windows of a similar design.
