Description
The Elm Tree Inn is a public house dating from the 18th century, consisting of several builds and restored and extended in the late 20th century. It is constructed of brick and features a thatched roof. The section facing the road was originally two storeys high with two bays, and a bay was added to the road end, along with two 20th-century bays and a link that connects to a late 18th-century L-shaped barn range. The front has a central 19th-century gabled porch situated between the bays. There are two-light casement windows on either side of the porch, with brick infill above that forms a segmental arch. The right-hand bay at the road end has a thatched hood supported by posts, with a plank door beneath it and similar windows beside. On the first floor, there are two-light casements. The roof is hipped at the road end, featuring a stack above the original building. At the opposite end, the 20th-century section includes a rectangular bay and two-light casements, with a roof that has a lower ridge.
