Description

Avon Cottage is a 17th-century cottage, altered in the 18th, 19th, and 20th centuries. It is timber-framed with painted brick infill and a thatched roof. The cottage is originally of two bays, with bays added to each end and a wing extending to the rear. The front elevation has a frame exposed to the left. A central, approximately central, half-glazed porch with a swept-down roof is present on the left. The left center bay and end bays contain three-light casement windows, with shutters in the end bays. Above the right-hand center bay is a two-light casement window within a large hipped dormer. The roof is half-hipped, with stacks at each end of the original central part and on the right-hand end.
