HOOK LANE 1. 5231 (North West Side) Hook Blacksmiths House at The Forge SU 5005 14/200 7.5.75. II GV 2. Early C19 house. Grey headers with red brick window dressings, quoins and plinth. Hipped slate roof with large centre stack and additional chimney. 2 storeys. 3 windows, early C19 casements with glazing bars. Centre trellised porch. The Nook, Nos 1 to 4 (consec) (Nook Cottage) Blacksmiths House and The Old Smithy at The Forge form a group with Nos 1 and 2, Wellside Cottages (the latter two are buildings of local interest).
