Description

The Blacksmiths House at The Forge is an early 19th-century house located on Hook Lane in Hook. It features grey headers with red brick window dressings, quoins, and a plinth. The building has a hipped slate roof with a large central chimney and an additional chimney. It is two storeys high and has three early 19th-century casement windows with glazing bars. A central trellised porch adds to its charm. The Blacksmiths House, along with The Nook, Nos 1 to 4 (consecutive), and The Old Smithy at The Forge, forms a group with Nos 1 and 2, Wellside Cottages, which are buildings of local interest.
