Description
Forge House and the Forge date from the early 19th century. The north front of the house has two storeys and four upper windows. It features a hipped tile roof with a catslide to the rear, brick dentil eaves, and brick walling in Flemish Garden Wall bond. The ground-floor openings are cambered, and the west gable is tile-hung. The windows are casements. A gabled brick porch with an oval arch leads to the entrance and includes decorative bargeboards and a panelled door. Connected to the house by a low-roofed passage is the roadside forge building, which is now a garage. This building is a rectangular block with a tile roof that is hipped at the north end and half-hipped at the south end. It has red brick walling in Flemish bond and simple glazing with vertical panes and shutters.
