Description

Elm Barn Farmhouse (Elmfearn) is a house dating from the 17th, 18th, and early 19th centuries. It has a distinctive L-shape and was built in several phases. The oldest part of the house features exposed timber framing and brickwork visible within. The exterior of this section was later rendered and now has sash windows and a slate roof. Another section of the house is a 3-bay timber-framed barn, likely dating to the earlier or middle 17th century, with a thatched roof and boarded walling. Further additions were made in the early 19th century, consisting of outshots with slate roofs and painted brick walls.
