Description

The Nook is an 18th-century building of grey headers with red brick window dressings, quoins, and a stringcourse. It has a tiled roof. The building is two storeys high and originally had two windows, now replaced with modern casements set within the original window openings. A trellised wooden porch with a door of eight moulded panels stands at the front. To the southwest side is a single-storey, one-window outshut. A single-storey, four-bay wing extends to the northeast side, with the outer bay now containing garage doors. The Nook forms a group with Nos 1 to 4 (consec) – Nook Cottage, Blacksmiths House, and The Old Smithy at The Forge – and with Nos 1 and 2, Wellside Cottage, which are buildings of local interest.
