Description
Little Chilling consists of two cottages built in the earlier to mid 19th century. They are made of red brick with grey headers and feature a symmetrical design with two slightly advanced gables. Between the gables is a recessed blank panel. The gables are adorned with bargeboards and pendants, and the roof is covered in fishscale tiles, with four large stacks positioned diagonally in the center. The cottages are two storeys high and have two casement windows with lozenged glazing on the ground floor, which includes dripstone moulds. The doors are located in flanking single-storey side sections that ramp down from the eaves and have curved parapets, with outer piers rising above the parapet level. The doors are topped with stone Tudor arches and also feature dripstone moulds. The barn at Great Chilling Farm is part of a group with Little Chilling and the granary at Little Chilling, both of which are considered buildings of local interest.
