Description
Pepperbox Cottage is a 17th-century cottage that features late 18th-century cladding and late 20th-century restoration and extension. It is a timber-framed building topped with a thatched roof. The front, facing north-west, has one storey and an attic, with two above three windows. The roof is hipped, with lowered eaves at each end above outshots, and includes eyebrow dormers. The lower roof has gables for the two 20th-century rear wings. The exposed frame is mainly visible in the upper walls, with brick nogging, while the other walls are constructed of brickwork in Flemish bond. The windows are casements, with some featuring early 19th-century cast-iron frames. There is a boarded door set in a plain frame, topped with a thatched canopy supported by posts.
