Description
The building is a stable and coachhouse located 20 metres north of Northbrook, dating from the early 19th century. It is constructed of brick with a stuccoed front and features a slate roof. The symmetrical front faces southeast and includes a two-storey, slightly projecting centrepiece with three windows above two cambered carriage openings. On either side, there is a symmetrical arrangement of stable doors flanked by lunette windows. The lower wings have hipped roofs, while the centre section features a gable pediment with a cupola that has an open frame, plastered and with a moulded base, above vertical boarding. The walls are plain, with projecting panels above the wing openings, a circular clock panel in the pediment, arched openings, and a plinth. The windows are casements, with deeper lights on the inner (west) side. The east side has been altered to include a recessed doorway in the inner arched opening, with a half dormer featuring a gabled roof above it.
