Description
Hill Farmhouse is a house dating from the 17th century and early 19th century. It features a brick and tile construction, with a timber-framed structure that has cladding and a rear extension added in the early 19th century. The front, facing east, is two storeys high with two and a half windows. The roof has a hip above the north-side projecting unit, with brick dentil eaves and a Victorian Tudor stack that includes diagonal flues. The walls are made of red brick in Flemish bond, featuring cambered rubbed arches with flat extrados and a plinth. The windows are leaded 3-light casements. The plain doorway has a canopy supported by carved brackets and a six-panelled door. There is also a lead fire-insurance sign. The rear wing on the south side displays vernacular features, with the gable at the south end of the front being tile-hung in its upper part. Inside, there is some 17th-century panelling.
