Description
Northbrook Farm Cottages, originally a house built around 1600 and later modified in the mid 19th century, is now divided into two dwellings. The structure features brick and tile walls, with a tile roof, and has timber-framed origins that are mostly covered by tile-hanging. The front, facing south, is two storeys high with an attic and has three windows, along with a single-storey wing on the west side. The roof is half-hipped at the east and includes three gabled dormers. Decorative bands adorn the walls, and at the rear, there is some exposed brickwork and a fragment of the original timber framing. The windows are 'Tudor' cast-iron casements, and there are two gabled porches with brick-nogged timber frames. A prominent feature of the building is a large stepped chimney stack at the rear, originally attached to the timber frame, made of brick in English bond with the lower section constructed from malmstone.
