Description

Willey Mill, which includes the house and mill buildings, dates from the 18th century. The mill house is two storeys high, constructed of colourwashed brick, and features a hipped old tile roof. On the first floor, there are three windows, while the ground floor has two windows and a central six-panel door. This door is set beneath a delicate contemporary lattice porch with a three-centred arched head and a panelled lattice surround, topped with a lead barrel roof. To the left, there is an extension that is set back, containing one window, and on the return front, there is another six-panel door with a window to the side and a window above.

The mill buildings are attached at right angles to the left of the house. This long brick structure has an old tile roof and features irregular casements and doors. The mill is still in working order. Other nearby mills, including Hatch Mill, Bourne Mill, High Mill, and Bourne Place, are also listed. Although most of these mills, except for Bourne Mill, are 18th century and were built after Farnham's peak as a major corn market in southern England, they are all notable examples of their type, with attractive mill houses that are important for preservation due to their historical significance and architectural interest.
