Description
Northbrook Cottages is a pair of cottages, now combined into one, built around 1840 with some minor alterations from the 20th century. The structure is made of brick and tile, featuring a symmetrical front that stands two stories high with two windows. The roof is plain, and the walls are constructed in Flemish bond, showcasing cambered rubbed arches with a flat extrados and a plinth. The windows are cast-iron casements designed in a Tudor style. The entrance has coupled doors, although one has been converted into a window, situated within a wide porch that includes brick cheeks, coupled center posts, and four curved brackets that support the eaves of the tiled roof. The other walls are built in Monk bond. Overall, the cottages represent a virtually unaltered example of a typical design from their period.
