Description
Turks Farm is a millhouse and barn dating from the 18th century, with early and late 19th-century elements. It is constructed of brick and tile. The house is associated with a mill that was attached and stood across the race, along with a small timber-framed barn that is now used as a service building.
The west elevation of the house is symmetrical, featuring two storeys and two windows, with the former central entrance now filled in. It has a hipped roof with brick dentil eaves, red brick walling in Flemish bond, and a slate-covered plinth. The windows are sashes in exposed frames.
On the south elevation, there is one window from the original house, alongside a late 19th-century extension with three windows in a similar style, which now contains the entrance within a timber-framed gabled porch.
The barn consists of three bays and has a later lower extension to the east. It features a half-hipped roof with one 20th-century dormer, and an exposed frame with brick infill and irregular openings. The north side of the barn is irregular, showing patching where the wall once abutted, and the interior of the house at this point has light timber framework.
