Description

Star Cottage is a house that dates from the 17th century, with later alterations in the late 18th century and mid 19th century. Originally of timber-framed construction, it has been reclad in brick and features a symmetrical front facing south with two storeys and two windows. The roof is plain, with slated tilted bottom courses and a catslide at the rear. The walls are built in Flemish bond with rubbed flat arches, and there are Victorian sash windows. The entrance is highlighted by an open pediment hood supported by shaped brackets, leading to a four-panelled door. The east gable is tile-hung, set back from the front wall, and is partially obscured by a chimney stack.
