Description

Cedar Cottage is an early 19th century house, with alterations made in the mid-19th century. It is constructed of painted brick and stucco, with a slate roof. The front, facing west towards the roadway, is at a right angle to the road and is symmetrical, featuring two storeys and three windows. A mid-19th century addition extends to the north, containing a single window. The roof is low-pitched and hipped, with wide eaves that blend with the slightly higher roof of the addition. The brickwork on the front is in a Flemish bond pattern, with a plinth. The windows are sash windows set in reveals. A classical porch with Doric columns and pilasters, thin Greek mouldings, an entablature, panelled reveals, and a half-glazed door is situated to the front. The south elevation is also symmetrical and features two windows, with stucco walls and sash windows in reveals.
