Description
This building is a barn and stable located 20 metres west of Northbrook Farm Cottages, dating from the late 17th century (1680) and early 19th century. It features brickwork and boarded walls, topped with a tile roof. The timber frame consists of five bays with aisles on three sides, except for two bays north of the central entrance on the east side. At the north end, there is an attached stable block from the early 19th century. The structure has a queen post truss and a hipped roof, which is slightly higher above the stable. The stable section has a two-storey symmetrical east elevation, with a central lunette above a doorway, flanked by pointed Gothic arches of windows on either side, and the brick walls are in header bond.
