Description

This is a partially-surviving timber-framed building dating from the 16th century, with later additions from the 19th century, located on the north side of George Street, Kingsclere. The building has a gabled front facing south and comprises two storeys and an attic, with two windows. It has a tile roof. The walls are rendered, with a visible plinth; at the rear, some original timber framing remains exposed. The windows are Victorian sash windows, and the ground floor features a double-fronted shop front with a cornice and thin side pilasters. The building is listed due to its timber framing, which is believed to be a cross-wing of a former hall, now incorporated into No. 3.
