Description

This is an early 19th-century building, with parts of the structure built on an earlier timber frame visible internally. The front, which includes the property at 2 Cross Street, has engraved stucco cladding and is two storeys high. It features nine sash windows, most with single glazing bars, a doorway with a plain keyblock and lintel, a rectangular fanlight, and a six-panelled door. Three later 19th-century shop fronts are present, along with modern glazing. The building has bold lined eaves, four hipped dormers, and a half-hipped slate roof.

The interior has been altered, but the east side of number 3 exhibits exposed timber framing in the upper storey. The return side of 2 Cross Street, a three-storey section, has three sash windows, a plain wooden doorcase, and one gabled dormer.
