Description

The Town Hall, dated 1833, was designed by Edward Haycock (the Elder) of Shrewsbury. It is constructed of ashlar, with a rusticated ground storey. The building is two storeys high and features three tall windows set within moulded architraves. Originally, the ground storey was open, but it now contains semi-circular headed windows and a doorway. A plain frieze sits above the ground storey, topped by a massive pediment with an unusually wide overhang, which is also extended at the eaves on the return sides. A clock face is located within the pediment.
