Description
Nos 33 and 35 on Winchester Road are a pair of mid-19th century Victorian villas that remain unaltered. They are symmetrical, two-storey buildings featuring one window on the ground floor and two on the first floor. The villas have a hipped slate roof with an old moulded eaves fascia. The walls are constructed of red brick in Flemish bond, accented with flush yellow dressings and quoins that form pilasters on each side, as well as on either side of the central coupled arched doorways. The doorways have rubbed flat arches, and there are first-floor bands and a plinth. The ground floor features angular bay windows with sash windows above. The plain doorways are set within a recessed porch created by two arched entrances, and there are metal window boxes on the upper side lights.
