Description
Nos 170 and 172 on Quay Road are a pair of early to mid 19th century villas, each two storeys high and constructed of brick with a hipped slate roof featuring later dormers. The buildings have three windows, with the ends projecting slightly forward. Brick voussoirs are present above the windows, which have been fitted with later casements. The central window is set back from the façade. A wide eaves cornice supported by widely spaced brackets runs along the top of the buildings. The central doorway features inset columns, a cornice, and an entablature, with panelled reveals. Each door consists of six fielded panels and has a rectangular fanlight above. There is a wooden pilaster at the centre, and both villas have four chimney stacks at the ends.
