Description
Lloyd Hospital, formerly known as Medina Cottage, is an early 19th-century building located on Quay Road. It is two storeys high, constructed of pale brick with ashlar dressings and features a hipped slate roof. The building has rusticated quoins and three windows, which are hung sashes with glazing bars. The two outer windows have rusticated lintels, while the central window is adorned with moulded non-classical Ionic pilasters and a cornice. Above a plain columned porch with a moulded cornice, there is a slender iron balconette. The ground floor includes two later 19th-century stone rectangular bay windows with four lights each, and there is a band at the cills and a plinth. Access to the building is via five steps leading to modern doors beneath rectangular fanlights.
