Description

Townshend House, formerly known as The Cottage, is an early 19th-century building located on Dippenhall Street in Crondall. It is two storeys high and features a symmetrical front with three bays, where the central bay has been transformed into a two-storeyed timber projection that includes two side entrances. The building has a slate roof, with a hipped tile roof over the rear extensions, and its walls are finished in stucco. The windows are sash types set in reveals. The coupled porch is boarded above and has a window on each face; the ground floor front is fully glazed, while the sides feature canopied doorways. In front of the house, there is a long forecourt wall that has been lowered, with former railings now missing and piers at intervals.
