Description
Byrons Cottage is an 18th-century building, which has been modernised and is formed from the joining of three separate units. The west-facing (road) elevation is one storey and has an attic, with a red tile roof that is half-hipped to the south, featuring decorative tile hanging. The north gables have a large chimney breast and two gabled dormers resting on the eaves. The elevation is built of red brick with a band and plinth, containing four windows and a modern brick porch. Behind this is a taller section, notable for a central brick stack and a gabled outshot to the south, also with a red tile roof. Some sections are tile-hung, while others are brick with cambered openings. A lower block to the rear (originally comprising numbers 1 and 2) also has a red tile roof, a large chimney, and outshots to the east. A central door, which was originally part of a single unit, is now blocked, and there are two modern brick porches. Case- ment windows are present throughout the building.
