Description
Chaundlers Farmhouse is a 17th and 18th century building located on Dippenhall Street in Crondall. It is an old block with two storeys and an attic, though the main west front dates from the 18th century and features three windows. The farmhouse has a red tile roof that is gabled at the sides and rear, complemented by a fully-moulded modillion cornice. The red brickwork is laid in Flemish bond with blue headers, and there are projecting bands on the first and second floors, with rubbed flat arches on the ground floor that are cambered at the sides, along with a plinth. The windows are Victorian sashes set within reveals. A notable feature is the fine central doorcase, which includes a moulded cornice, curved brackets, thin pilasters, and a rectangular fanlight with elliptical and diagonal glazing bars above a six-panelled door, accessed by steps.
