Description

7 The Mount is a building from around 1870, attributed to the architect Decimus Burton. It features a stucco exterior and a slate hipped roof with bracketed eaves. The structure has three storeys and a semi-basement. The windows are arranged in a central projection with quoins and a rusticated ground floor. The ground floor includes two moulded round-headed windows with impost moulds, while the first floor has three pilastered round-headed windows with large moulded cills. The second floor features two square sashes set in moulded architraves, also with a continuous large moulded cill. All sashes are without glazing bars. The building has stuccoed chimneys topped with moulded cornices. There is a single-storey porch set back to the side, which has a round-headed pilastered doorway. Mount Lodge and Nos 1 to 11 form a group, with Nos 8 to 11 being of local interest only.
