Description
Norton Villa is a mid-19th century house located on Hill Street. It is built of stucco and has a slate hipped roof with wide eaves. The house is three storeys high and originally featured three windows across the front. The windows are sash windows with vertical glazing bars. Those on the first and second floors are set within moulded architraves, with the first floor windows distinguished by cornices resting on console brackets. The central first-floor window has a pediment supported by console brackets, above French windows with an ornate iron balcony. A wooden trellis porch fronts the central ground-floor entrance, which itself has French windows. A wide band runs along the building at the first-floor level. Small, modern two-storey wings have been added to the left and right of the original house. Stuccoed chimney stacks are also present.
