Description
Britton's Farmhouse is a farmhouse dating from the early 17th century, with alterations made in the 18th and 20th centuries. It has a timber frame that is encased in painted brick and features old tile gabled roofs. The building has a rectangular plan with two gabled extensions on the northwest side and stands two storeys high with attics. There are flanking chimneys and 20th-century leaded casements. The entrance front consists of two bays, with two tiled gabled dormers and a 20th-century gabled central entry porch. There is false timber work and a small lean-to extension on the right, which has two tall chimneys at the rear. Inside, the principal beam is chamfered with run-out stops, and there is an inglenook fireplace.
