Description
Wood's Farm is a farmhouse dating from the late 16th century. It features a timber frame with painted brick infill, and the ground floor is underbuilt with painted brick. The roof is hipped and covered with old tiles. The building has a rectangular plan consisting of four framed bays, with pent roofs over one bay at both the front and rear, and a 19th-century lean-to extension on the right side.
The farmhouse has two storeys and a chimney on the ridge to the right of the centre, along with a tall chimney on the right-hand gable. The entrance front includes 19th-century casement windows on the left side, with two more on the upper floor that have tiled gablets breaking the eaves. On the ground floor, there is a two-light and a three-light casement under a late 19th-century closed entrance porch with a tiled roof positioned between them. To the right, there is a pent roof with a tiled gabled dormer and a five-light 20th-century casement window with glazing bars on the ground floor.
Inside, some of the frame is exposed and features curved braces, and there is an inglenook fireplace in the living room.
