Description

Paradise Farmhouse is a farmhouse that dates back to the 15th century, with extensions added in the 17th and late 18th centuries. The building features a combination of part timber frame with painted brick infill and part painted brick, topped with an old tile roof that has both gabled and hipped sections. Originally, it consisted of two framed bays, with an outshut extension on the northeast and a further extension on the southwest, creating an L-shaped plan. The farmhouse is two storeys high and has two chimneys with clay pots.

The northwest front of the building showcases a timber-framed gable on the left, which is rendered above the tie beam and has brickwork below, all painted. There is one two-light window on both the first and ground floors. To the right, there is a late 18th-century panelled entrance door, with the top two panels glazed, accompanied by a wooden porch with a flat roof. An outshut on the left features a three-light fixed window. The painted brick extension on the right has a string course at the first-floor level, boxed eaves, and one bay of two-light windows, with the ground floor window having a segmental head. Inside, much of the timber frame is exposed, with joists that are chamfered and have stepped stops.
