Description
Ivy Cottage is a small house built in 1714, with extensions from the 19th century and late 20th century. It is constructed of brick in English bond and features an old tile hipped roof. The building has a rectangular plan that extends at the rear and stands two storeys tall. There is a chimney on each gable end, with the left chimney being large and connected to the main roof by a small ridged roof.
The front of the house, facing the road, is symmetrical and consists of two bays. It has a string course at the first floor and a dentil eaves course. The windows are two-light leaded casements, with those on the ground floor having cambered heads. The central entrance features a four-panel door in a moulded frame, which is sheltered by a 20th-century gabled porch. Above the door, on the first floor and just below the eaves, is a small terra-cotta plaque inscribed with "I H" and the year 1714.
