Description

Hutt's Farmhouse is a farmhouse, now a house, dating from the early 16th century, with extensions from the 17th century and alterations made in the mid-20th century. The building is timber framed with brick infill and is partly encased in brick, topped by an old tile gabled roof. It features a lobby entrance plan consisting of two by two framed bays, which includes a stair turret and a flat roof extension from the 20th century, both located at the rear. The farmhouse is two storeys high and has a two-bay front.

On the façade, there is one early 17th-century chimney on the ridge to the right of the centre and a tall early 20th-century chimney on the left gable. The windows are 20th-century casements, with a two-light window on the left under a segmental brick arch and a three-light window on the right. To the right of these windows, there is a large gabled and tiled entrance porch, along with a one-bay gabled crosswing on the right side that has similar windows.

Inside, most of the frame is exposed, showcasing a straight arch and wind braces in the 17th-century section. The principal beam on the ground floor is chamfered with bar stops, and there are queen post roof trusses. On the first floor at the rear, there are old diamond mullioned windows with three lights. The interior also features an inglenook fireplace with a bread oven.
