Description
Southbrook is a house located on Finchampstead Road in Wokingham, dating from the late 18th century and altered in the 20th century. It is constructed of brick and features a hipped slate roof. The house has a central staircase plan and includes a small 20th-century lean-to porch on the left side. It stands two storeys tall and has a prominent chimney on the right. The south front is symmetrical with three bays and features gauged brick arches over the windows. The first floor has sash windows with glazing bars, while the ground floor has French casements with marginal glazing, set within a central moulded stone door case topped with a low pediment. The entrance includes a four-panelled door, with the top two panels glazed and a semi-circular fanlight above with radiating bars. The door is accessed by three stone steps. To the right, there is a lean-to conservatory from the late 19th century, which is set back, and it adjoins a single-storey gardener's outhouse made of brick, featuring a diagonal slate roof and lozenge glazing.
